Fayetteville Library Hosts Free Comic Book Day

FAYETTEVILLE -- Saturday is Free Comic Book day at the Fayetteville Public Library, 401 W. Mountain St.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Walmart Storytime Room, children can have their faces painted and make superhero-themed crafts. Snacks will be provided, and cartoons will be screened.

From noon to 2 p.m., teens can participate in a "take a comic, leave a comic" swap table. The movie "The Avengers" will be shown.

Free comic books will be distributed while supplies last.

At 2 p.m., Nate Powell, a comic artist and Little Rock native, will discuss his work. Powell co-authored "March," a graphic novel about civil rights leader U.S. Rep. John Lewis, and is working on an adaptation of Rick Riordan's "Heroes of Olympus: The Lost Hero."
