People across Arkansas are rallying to help those hit Sunday night by tornadoes. Churches, schools, universities and banks are among the places that have set up drop-off locations for critically needed items. This is a small part of the list. Where to get help

The Federal Emergency Management Agency urges anyone whose property was damaged to apply for disaster assistance with FEMA. The presidential disaster declaration, issued Tuesday, makes federal assistance available to eligible individuals and business owners. Online registration can be done at disasterassistance.gov or by smartphone at m.fema.gov. Applicants also may call (800) 621-3362 or (TTY) (800) 462-7585. If 711-Relay or Video Relay Services is used, call (800) 621-3362. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Where to donate

Conway’s 33rd annual Toad Suck Daze festival, which starts Friday and ends Sunday, will have collection stations at all “Toad Banks” and concerts. A fundraiser is set for 5:30 p.m. Friday, with singer Kris Allen and a group of local musicians on the Preston Palmer Studio Kid Zone Stage. More information is available at ToadSuck.org.

The North Little Rock School District set up a drop-off for donated goods in the lobby of the auditorium shared by Lakewood Middle School and the High School Freshman Campus. Collection times are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Buses will take the donations to Vilonia and Mayflower on Friday afternoon.

The office of Secretary of State Mark Martin is collecting donations and will host a blood drive Wednesday. To donate blood, the contact is Susan Carter at (501) 682-3042. Donation stations will be in the state Capitol building until May 19.

The Boar’s Den, 200 T.P. White Drive, Jacksonville, is hosting Tornado Relief Benefit concerts Friday through Sunday. Doors open at 3 p.m., and shows start at 6 p.m. each day. Patrons pay a $5 donation with proceeds going to the American Red Cross. (501) 241-2430

McCutchen & Sexton law firm in Fort Smith is collecting goods at 1622 N. B St., behind the Regional Art Center on Rogers Avenue, in the law firm’s parking lot until 5 p.m. today.

Park Plaza mall in Little Rock is accepting nonperishable food donations until May 9 during mall hours. No glass, please.
