Lions Club

The Bella Vista Lions Club will meet at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday for a dinner buffet meeting at Concordia Retirement Center's main building, 1 Concordia Drive. Tex Holt of the Rodeo of the Ozarks will talk about the history and workings of the annual event.

All guests are welcome to attend. The optional dinner buffet is offered for $9.

Hill N Dale

The Hill N Dale Hiking Club of Bella Vista will be traveling 50 miles to Mount Kessler, west of Fayetteville, for a hike on Friday. Members will meet at the Harps upper parking lot in Bella Vista at 8 a.m. in order to carpool to the hiking area. After the hike, they will be eating pizza. Guests are invited to attend.

On April 8, hikers will be traveling to the Jasper area for a two-night stay and three days of hiking.

Garden Club

The Garden Club of Rogers general meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hobbs State Park visitors center. The program will be "Plants as Medicine: Granny Woman to Pharmacist" by herbalist Sharon Haley.

Nomad Shriners

The Nomad Shrine Club will meet Thursday at the Bella Vista Country Club, 98 Clubhouse Road in Bella Vista. A social gathering starts at 5:15 p.m., followed by dinner and a meeting. Reservations are required for dinner. All are welcome.

James Bright

The James Bright Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 1 p.m. April 7 at the Train Station's Bogle Room, 405 S. Main St. in Bentonville. The program will be "What Is DAR?" by Sue Thompson, membership chairman.

The Republican Women of Bentonville will hold their third Candidates Forum from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of Arvest Bank on the square in Bentonville. A panel of four local citizens will ask questions of the following candidates: for attorney general: Leslie Rutledge, David Sterling and Patricia Nation; for state auditor: Andrea Lea and Ken Yang; for state treasurer: Dennis Milligan.

Purple Heart

Chapter 460, Military Order of the Purple Heart, meets at 10:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the Fayetteville Veterans Home conference room, 1125 N. College Ave. Proof of award of the Purple Heart is required in the form of a DD214 or Purple Heart Citation with Orders.
