Fayetteville School Board To Interview Cabot Superintendent

FAYETTEVILLE -- Cabot School Superintendent Tony Thurman will be interviewed Monday for the superintendent's position in the Fayetteville School District.

The School Board will meet at 5:15 p.m. to interview Thurman in executive session.

Thurman was named superintendent of the Cabot School District in 2007. The district has 10,400 students and a staff of 1,450 certified and support employees. Fayetteville has 9,300 students and a staff of about 1,200 certified and support employees.

Thurman also served as the high school principal for four years and the middle school principal for three years in Cabot.

He is an adjunct professor of education administration at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He also has experience as an elementary principal in McGehee and as a teacher in Crossett.

He holds a doctoral degree in education administration and supervision from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
