Man Arrested In Springdale Drug Case

SPRINGDALE -- A domestic disturbance call Wednesday led to the arrest of a man suspected of selling drugs, according to police.

James King, 56, of 2609 Johnson Meadows Place No. 104 in Springdale was arrested Wednesday in connection with felony possession of firearms by a felon, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana), simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving.

Officers were called about a fight at Johnson Meadows apartments, according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department. A man was threatening to kick down a door.

Officers found King looking through the window of an apartment, according to police records. He had a gun stuck in the back of his waistband.

King was arrested after officers learned he was a felon on parole. A search by King's parole officer and police officers of King's home found drug paraphernalia and a large amount of money.

A police dog found a container in the backyard near where King was arrested. The container contained 41.5 grams of marijuana in plastic bags and 17.7 grams of methamphetamine.

The pistol taken from King was reported stolen in Gentry.

King was in the Washington County Detention Center on Thursday, being held on a parole violation.
