Center Offers Free Gun Locks

As the temperature starts to rise, firearms are stored away and fishing poles are rigged for spring time angling. This doesn't mean thoughts of firearm safety should be put away as well.

With that in mind, Arkansas Game & Fish Commission nature centers in Pine Bluff, Jonesboro, Fort Smith and Little Rock are taking advantage of a program offered by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. The program is called "Project Child Safe."

The four nature centers, along with the help of local law enforcement agencies, will be distributing gun safety cables free of charge to each person visiting one of the nature centers on March 22-23.

The locking cables are easy to use and a must-have accessory for every firearm, especially in homes with children.
