Panel to talk digital platforms in retail

WalStreet members of the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce are invited to a panel discussion led by Bazaarvoice leaders at 7:30 a.m. March 31 at the Embassy Suites, 3303 Pinnacle Hills Parkway, Rogers. Representatives from Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart and suppliers will explain how digital platforms and social media are influencing in-store sales, trends they’re witnessing, and how they’re leveraging digital channels and content.

While the vast majority of Wal-Mart sales happen in the physical store, Wal-Mart and other retailers are investing heavily in digital platforms to increase e-commerce sales and to drive consumers into the store. The reverse of showrooming is happening in what the industry is calling ROBO or Research Online, Buy Offline. Shoppers are checking digital content to research their purchases before going to the store, or they are using their mobiles while shopping in the aisles.

The breakfast and program are free to WalStreet members. Register with Tammy at [email protected] or (479) 273-2841.
