Prep Baseball

Bentonville 8, Webb City, Mo. 4

Kane Koenigseder and Chad Musteen each drove in two runs as Bentonville bounced back from its first loss of the season with a nonconference victory at Webb City.

Bentonville (6-1) batted around in the second inning and erased a 2-1 deficit with four runs. Troy Cahill's double drove in Cody Scroggins with the tying run, then Koenigseder drove in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded walk.

Webb City scored twice in the bottom of the fourth and made it a 5-4 game before the Tigers scored three times in the sixth. Will Jibas had an RBI single, while Koenigseder added a bases-loaded walk in the inning.

Jan Timpe (1-0), the second of three Bentonville pitchers, threw three innings of scoreless relief and picked up the win. Cahill had two hits with three runs scored and a run batted in.

The Tigers will head to Alabama and play in the Gulf Shores Classic, starting Monday with a single game against Russellville, Ala.

Farmington 21, West Fork 2

Prep Softball

Springdale High 7, West Fork 2

Senior Chelsea Baldwin only gave up four hits and struck out seven on the mound while going 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Springdale High to a 7-2 win over West Fork on Friday.

Baldwin had two doubles and Sydney McConnell went 2-for-4 with a solo home run as Springdale (3-4) racked up 13 hits in the victory. Ashley Farley and Kelcee Thompson each had two hits for Springdale.

Springdale will compete in the Harrison Tournament next Friday and Saturday.

Siloam Springs 7, Gravette 6

The Lady Panthers took advantage of errors and walks in a four-run fifth inning to beat Gravette 6-4 in a nonconference softball game in Siloam Springs.

The Lady Panthers (7-6) led 2-1 but fell behind 3-2 in the top of the fifth. In the bottom half of the inning, the Lady Panthers loaded the bases with nobody out and scored a pair of on walks to go up 4-3. Sierra Ferguson then blooped a two-run single to right field to give Siloam Springs a 6-3 lead.

Lindsee LeBrecque hit a solo home run in the seventh to pull Gravette (4-4) within 6-4. It was LeBrecque's second home run of the season.

Freshman Crissa Spry (3-1) picked up the win in relief for Siloam Springs. Morgan Curtis went 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs. Abi Sislo and Leslie Perry also had RBIs for the Lady Panthers.

LeBrecque (4-4) took the loss for Gravette. She hit 2 for 4 with two RBI. Ashleigh Horn also had an RBI for the Lady Lions.

Girls

Bentonville 5, Ozark, Mo. 0

Melanie Matkins scored two first-half goals and led Bentonville to an easy road victory over Ozark.

Victoria Mitchell, Rachel Sattler and Anslea Haikey each had goals in the second half for the Lady Tigers (4-1-1).

Bentonville is idle until April 4, when the Lady Tigers open 7A/6A-West Conference play at Springdale Har-Ber.

Boys

Springdale Har-Ber 7, LR Central 2

Josh Rhodes scored three goals to lead Springdale Har-Ber to a lopsided victory over Little Rock Central on Thursday. Rolando Sidon, Miguel Gomez, Raul Umana, and Jimmy Araujo scored the other goals for Har-Ber, which improved to 6-3-1 on the season.

Har-Ber will face Rogers Heritage in a nonconference game on March 31 before opening league play against Bentonville on April 4. That game will be played on the Wildcats' new track and soccer stadium on the Har-Ber campus.
