— A fire set outside a Rogers business caused a scare when it began to catch inside the wall of the building about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Employees stood outside and watched Rogers firefighters tear down part of a wall and put out a fire at Romona Munsell & Associates, 5208 Village Parkway, Suite 1. The fire started in a pile of twigs piled in the concrete corner outside of the building beside patio furniture, said Jim Hixon, a Munsell maintenance man. The fire appeared to have been built overnight, he said.

Hixon saw smoke coming through an outlet Wednesday, and found the interior wall was hot to the touch. He said the fire probably would have spread if left undetected.

Fire officials consider the incident an accidental fire, said Cliff Thompson, battalion chief. The situation was under control in about five minutes once firefighters arrived on scene, according to a report.

Damage to the property are estimated at about $20,000, according to officials.
