Rogers (4-1, 2-0) completed the sweep with a 10-4 victory in the nightcap.

"Real pleased with Gentz because he worked ahead in every count," Rogers coach Matt Melson said. "Brett really fed off that momentum. You can do a lot when you are 0-1 on everybody. Brett was pretty impressive."

Gentz struckout the Bulldogs' side in the second and fifth innings to go with two strikeouts in the first and third innings. The only blemish on Gentz's outing was a two-out third inning walk, but the senior picked off Chase Carpenter to end the third while facing the minimum.

Gentz (2-0) has 18 strikeouts in 10 innings of work this season and he threw 43 strikes on 66 pitches Tuesday. After pregame warm ups, Gentz said he decided to ride his fastball in the conference opener.

"My change-up didn't feel good in the bullpen before the game," Gentz said. "I just relied on my fastball. I was locating it well, and it was beating them. So, we just kept going with the fastball. Coach Melson preaches getting ahead so you can you use your offspeed, your junk, to get outs."

Rogers backed up Gentz with an 12-hit attack. Zach Arrick led the way with a 3-for-3 effort that included four RBIs, including a two-RBI single in the Mounties five-run fourth. Carter Forbis added two hits and two RBIs while Bryce Bray and Timmy Seldomridge added two singles each.

"We swung the bat up-and-down the lineup," Melson said. "Zach is kind of hot right now, and we have to feed off him."

Rogers jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings and the Mounties finished with 12 hits to complete the sweep.

Billy Treacy pitched five innings to pick up the win. Treacy gave up five hits and struckout six. Nolan Farnan struckout three in two innings of work for the Mounties.

Josh Poulos and Zach Stith each hit a double for the Bulldogs (2-4, 0-2).
