— Rogers Heritage rode a big day from Lindsay Glynn to earn a 7A/6A-West Conference softball win on Tuesday afternoon.

The sophomore enjoyed success at the plate and in the circle to lead the Lady War Eagles to a 9-1 victory over Siloam Springs in the league opener for both teams at Veterans Park.

Glynn went 3-for-3 with a walk, drove in three runs and scored four times out of the lead-off spot for Heritage (3-1, 1-0). But that was not all.

She also allowed only one run on three hits in the circle, keeping the Lady Panthers (6-5, 0-1) off balance all afternoon thanks to a great off-speed pitch.

Glynn, who earned all-state honors as a freshman, said she located her curveball better Tuesday than in a complete-game win against Morrilton on Friday.

The Lady Devil Dogs banged out 11 hits against Glynn, but managed just three run and left the bases loaded three times. She allowed only five base runners against Siloam Springs, striking out four and walking one in the complete-game win.

The one thing she had in common in both games was a devastating change-up. It's a pitch Glynn has plenty of confidence to throw at any time.

"I feel like when ever I really need to throw a big pitch, I'll throw my change-up," Glynn said. "Because I know I can throw it for a strike."

Heritage coach Tiffany Taylor said Glynn definitely came through for the Lady War Eagles.

"She keeps people off-balance that's for sure," Taylor said. "She's a big-time player for us. She doesn't play like a sophomore that's for sure."

Siloam Springs coach Scott Wright said Glynn and Lady War Eagles were just more ready to play than his team on Tuesday.

"We were a little flat coming out and it kinda spiraled," Wright said. "Give them credit, They hit the ball well and their pitcher placed the ball well. We didn't adapt as well as we could have."

Glynn got Heritage off to a good start in the bottom of the first with a double. She eventually scored on an errant pick-off throw from the Siloam Springs catcher. She walked and scored in the third on a two-run triple by Dasha Donahoe for a 3-0 Lady War Eagles lead.

Glynn added a two-run triple into the right-center field gap in the fourth and a run-scoring single in the sixth.

Kenzi Ziem added two hits, drove in one and scored a run, while Donahoe and Taylor Easley drove in two runs apiece.

Haley Hunt was the only Lady Panther to solve Glynn, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored. She scored on a sacrifice fly by Abbi Sislo.

Heritage continues conference play at Springdale Har-Ber on Thursday.
