A Grove, Okla., man was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a 6-year-old boy.

Elijah Anthony Schlumbrecht, 25, pleaded guilty Monday to sexual assault in the second degree, a Class B felony punishable with a prison sentence ranging from five to 20 years. The plea came under an agreement Carly Marshall, deputy prosecutor, reached with Samantha Vernetti, deputy public defender.

Schlumbrecht was arrested May 7. He was accused of inappropriately touching the child, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Schlumbrecht admitted to being intoxicated and engaging in sexual contact with the child, according to court documents.

Circuit Judge Robin Green accepted the plea agreement and Schlumbrecht's guilty plea. Schlumbrecht was sentenced to five years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. He must abide by a suspended sentence agreement for 15 years after his release from prison.

Schlumbrecht will be required to register as a sexual offender. He also must enroll in the prison's sex offender treatment program or complete a similar program when he is released from custody.

He must pay $2,503.15 in court costs.
