SHERIDAN 3, SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 2

Sheridan gave up a two-run lead in the seventh inning, but rallied for a run in the bottom of the inning to edge Springdale Har-Ber in the Benton Tournament. Har-Ber our-hit Sheridan 10-5 as Gracie Bogle went 4-for-4 and Hannah Sharum went 3-for-4 for the Lady Wildcats. Bogle went 4 innings and allowed three hits and two earned runs. Emily Stockalper took the loss, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing two hits with three strikeouts and walked two. The loss was Har-Ber’s first of the season. The Lady Wildcats (5-1) will return to action at home Tuesday against Bentonville.

PREP SOCCER BOYS ROGERS HERITAGE WINS CABOT INVITATIONAL

The War Eagles blanked Conway 3-0 in the finals of the Cabot Invitational on Saturday. Senior Brian Banuelos scored two goals and his brother, Christian, added a third goal. Hugo Flores and Mannuel Martinez combined on the shutout in goal for the War Eagles (2-2-1). Jose Pina and freshmam Erol Banuelos also had assists.

Heritage defeated Cabot 2-1 earlier in the day. Brian Banuelos scored both goals. Flores gave up Cabot’s lone goal in the fi nal fi ve seconds.

GIRLS

FAYETTEVILLE WINS HARRISON INVITATIONAL

Hannah Davis scored on Fayetteville’s fifth and fi nal penalty kick, and freshman goalkeeper Gracie Cape then preserved the win by keeping Fort Smith Southside’s final attempt out of the net as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Southside in extra time to win the Harrison Invitational on Saturday. The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie in regulation, before Fayetteville outscored the Lady Rebels, 3-2 on PK’s. Earlier in the tournament, Fayetteville (6-1) opened with a 2-0 win over Valley View, getting two goals from Cassidy Sykes. A 2-1 win over Harrison then moved the Lady’Dogs into the finals.

HERITAGE BLANKS CONWAY

The Lady War Eagles shut out Conway 2-0 in finish up play in the Cabot Invitational on Saturday.

Alexa Earp scored the fi rst goal, while Gina Britton added a secondhalf goal. Stacey Schimmel notched the shutout in goal for the Lady War Eagles (2-3).

Heritage lost in penalty kicks earlier in the day against Mount St. Mary.
