MVP Class 6A girls MVP Megan Hartness scored a game-high 27 points, hitting 6 of 10 from the floor and 15 of 17 from the free-throw line. She hit her first eight attempts before finally missing one early in the fourth quarter. The 15 made free throws are the third-most in the 21-year history of state finals weekend, and the attempts are tied for sixth. Hartness, a junior, converted four three-point plays, one each in the first and second quarters and two in the third quarter. Hartness also hauled in 11 rebounds and dished out three assists.

AND 1S The state title is the third for Coach Clay Reeves in his 11 years at Greenwood and his six overall. He won three state championships when he was at Greenland (1999, 2000, 2002). In all, Reeves’ teams have made nine appearances at state finals weekend. … Greenwood defeated Parkview twice during the regular season, 63-48 on Jan. 10 and 65-40 in mercy rule game in early February. ... The Lady Patriots were making their third consecutive state championship game appearance, but won only one one of those games, in 2012, the same year Greenwood won its last state title as a member of Class 5A. ... Lahoma Howard has taken Parkview to the state finals seven times since 2004. ... This season marked the second consecutive year four teams from the 7A/6A-Central Conference played for a state championship. Conway defeated Fort Smith Northside 74-67 on Thursday for the Class 7A state title. Last year, Fort Smith Northside faced Fort Smith Southside in the 7A title game, and Parkview played Little Rock Hall in the 6A final. ... Parkview’s lone senior, Christyal Holloway, will play at Arkansas State. ... Greenwood’s Lundon Williams has signed to play at Harding University.
