Amateur Radio

The Little Switzerland Amateur Radio Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the physicians' building at Mercy Hospital in Berryville. Anyone with an interest in amateur radio is welcome.

Ladies Bunco

The Bella Vista Ladies Bunco Group will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the main building at the Concordia Retirement Center. Cost is $9.50, which includes play and lunch. Reservations are required, and guests are welcome.

Nyte Tyme Quilters

Bella Vista Nyte Tyme Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the United Lutheran Church on the corner of Cooper Road and Forest Hills Boulevard.

This month's program will be presented by Judy Schoeny, who will demonstrate an armchair caddy. There is a show-and-tell portion of the meeting to show personal projects completed.

The quilters usually meet the third Monday of every month except November and December. They are new and experienced quilters who meet to share techniques and project ideas. All are welcome.

Kingsdale Squares

Book Club

The Bella Vista Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, to discuss "Nine Parts of Desire" by Geraldine Brooks.

Quilts of Love

Granny's Quilts of Love is recruiting women to sew quilts for the children at Arkansas Children's Hospital at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The "grannys" furnish all the materials.

The group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge, 1300 N. Davis St. The quilts are made of one piece of material 45 inches by 56 inches of a cartoon character or Disney print. Once a child has received a quilt, it is his to keep.

Republicans

The Washington County Republican Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at GuestHouse International in Fayetteville. Guest speaker is Leslie Rutledge, candidate for Arkansas attorney general.

Hiking Club

The Hill N Dale Hiking Club of Bella Vista will be traveling to Missouri for a hike Tuesday. The group will hike the Eagle's Nest and Deer Leap trails at Roaring River State Park. Members will meet at Harps upper parking lot in Bella Vista at 9 a.m. in order to carpool to the hiking area. After the hike, they will be eating at the lodge.

Retired Teachers

The Washington County Retired Teachers will meet Monday at GuestHouse International in Fayetteville. Registration begins at 11 a.m. followed by a buffet lunch at 11:30 a.m. The business meeting will begin at 12:15 p.m.

Cost of the meal is $12 per member. Checks need to be made out to GuestHouse International.

The program this month will be presented by Jannine Parry and is titled "How To Be A Savvy Consumer of Political Polls." Members need to bring items for the charitable collections. The devotional will be given by Beverly Cosby.

Glade Community

The Glade Community Historical Society will meet at 3 p.m. April 27. Speaker Monte Harris, a fifth generation Benton County resident and adult programs educator at the Rogers Historical Museum, will present "Memories of Glade, Arkansas."

The 3 p.m. July 27 meeting will feature singer/songwriters Still on the Hill.

Susan Young of the Shiloh Museum is the speaker for the 3 p.m. Oct. 26 meeting.

The meetings are held in the Lost Bridge Village community room, 12477 Lodge Drive in Garfield.

Cemetery Association

The Bella Vista Cemetery Association will hold its annual public meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. in Bella Vista.

Bentonville Lions

The Bentonville Noon Lions Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month. The next meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Acropolis Restaurant in Bentonville. Guests are always welcome.

Sunflower Club

The Kansas Sunflower Club will meet at 11 a.m. March 24 for a pizza luncheon in the Village Insurance community room. Pizza will be ordered after arrival. Bring a small salad or dessert. Games will be played after lunch.

All former Kansas residents are invited to attend. There are no dues.

Mercedes-Benz

Members and invited guests of the Ozark section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America will visit Hot Springs March 21-23. They will stay at a downtown hotel and meet in its hospitality room, as well as go to dinner at a nearby restaurant. On Saturday, they will watch the races at Oaklawn from reserved tables in the racetrack's Carousel Terrace Room, with a buffet lunch.

Section members usually meet the second Saturday of each month. Times and locations vary, depending on the nature of the event. Event categories are driving, entertainment, social, educational, charitable, technical, exhibit and awards. Owning a Mercedes is not required.

Senior Democrats

The Senior Democrats of Northwest Arkansas will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Western Sizzlin, 3492 Sunset Ave. in Springdale. Speakers will be Judge Stacey Zimmerman, incumbent candidate, juvenile judge; and attorney Lisa Parks, currently, Washington County Public Defender's office.

Walking Club

The Ozark Hill Hikers Walking Club invites all club members and other interested walkers to two March events. The first event is a group walk of 5K or 10K in Fayetteville on March 26. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the starting point at Walgreens, 524 S. School Ave. The walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. and follows a part of the Frisco Trail and passes through the downtown square, down historic Dickson Street and through the University of Arkansas campus.

The second walk is a special event 5K/10K walk in Siloam Springs on March 29. Registration will be at Bob Henry Park Pavilion, 509 W. Benton St. Start any time between 9 a.m. and noon and finish by 3 p.m. The 10K walk follows the Dogwood Springs Walking Trail, which meanders along Sager Creek and through John Brown University. The walk continues along residential streets and will cross the state borders of Arkansas and Oklahoma. The walk continues to historic downtown and returns to Bob Henry Park.

Pieces 'N Patches

Pieces 'N Patches will meet Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 26th Street and New Hope Road in Rogers. Program will be a showing by the Van Go Go Girls of their Bentonville square quilt. Refreshments will begin at 10 a.m with the program at 10:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.
