Attempted Kidnapping Reported On University Campus

FAYETTEVILLE -- University of Arkansas Police are investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping on campus early Saturday morning.

Capt. Mark Mills said a female student was walking in the area of Lindell Avenue and Douglas Street around 4:30 a.m. when an unidentified man confronted her. Police said the man pulled the girl by her arm, trying to lead her away from the sidewalk area.

A struggle ensued and the woman was able to break free and escape. Police are considering this case a criminal attempt to commit kidnapping.

The man is described as a white male, about 21 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and short dark colored hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt with collar and khaki pants, Mills said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact university police at 479-575-2222. The investigation is continuing.
