Bentonville 3, Bryant 0

Bentonville did all of its scoring in the second half and opened the NWA Showcase with a victory over Bryant in a match played at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

Josh Howard, Josh Hillebrand and John-Michael Neubert each scored a goal for the Tigers (4-0-1), who will play again at 10:30 a.m. match today against Edmond (Okla.) Memorial at Springdale.

Springdale Har-Ber 1, Berryville 0

Cole Brothers scored a goal in the second half Thursday to lead Har-Ber to a 1-0 victory over Berryville. Brothers scored his fifth goal of the season on an assist from Miguel Gomez with four minutes left to play.

Rogers Heritage 2, Muskogee, Okla. 2

Senior Brian Banuelos had a goal and an assist to help the War Eagles manage a tie Friday at Gates Stadium.

Muskogee jumped to a 2-0 lead, but Heritage (0-2-1) scrambled back behind goals from Brian and freshman Erol Banuelos late in the first half. But Heritage could not manage any more, playing 24 hours after a hard-fought 2-1 loss to nationally ranked Jenks, Okla.

Heritage will play today in the Cabot Invitational and will take on the host team at 1 p.m.

Girls

Rogers Heritage 6, Muskogee, Okla. 0

Sophomore Keely Compton had a hat trick and an assist to lead Heritage to its first win of the season on Friday in Gates Stadium.

Sophomore Emily Seiler added a goal and an assist for the Lady War Eagles, who led 4-0 at halftime. Bailee Russell and Alex Earp also added goals for Heritage. Stacey Schimmel and Stormy Concoby combined on the shutout in goal for Heritage.

The Lady War Eagles (1-2) open play in the Cabot Invitational this morning at 11:30 against Cabot.

Bentonville 0, Bryant 0

The first girls match of the NWA Showcase ended in a scoreless tie Friday at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

Both teams had chances to score in the match but couldn't capitalize on them. Gabby Miller was credited with a big 1-on-1 save opportunity for Bentonville (1-1-1).

The Lady Tigers return to action at 10:30 a.m. today against Springdale Har-Ber, which dropped a 1-0 decision to Mount St. Mary in later action.

Rogers Heritage 6, Morrilton 3

Sophomore Lyndsay Glynn worked in and out of trouble all day, but got key outs to lead the Lady War Eagles to the nonconference victory over Morrilton on Friday at Veterans Park.

Glynn (1-0) gave up three first-inning runs, but nothing more as she left the bases loaded three different times.

Abby Newton's solo home run in the fourth snapped a 3-3 tie and gave Heritage (2-1) the lead for good. Taylor Easley added a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to push the Lady War Eagle lead to 6-3.

Easley, Newton and Brittney Dean all had two hits apiece. Easley drove in three and scored a run, while Dean also drove in a run.

Bentonville 3, Watson Chapel 0

Morgan Vaughan provided the offense and the pitching as Bentonville opened its season with a victory in the Benton Tournament.

Vaughan followed Payton Wildemann's leadoff walk with a two-run home run to center field in the first inning and made it stand. The senior right-hander went the full six innings and allowed just five hits while striking out eight Watson Chapel batters.

The Lady Tigers' other run came in the fifth when Claire Lacina's single drove in Sydney Frazier, a courtesy runner who entered the game after Madi Hill walked. Lacina and Mackenzie Hardison each had two hits to lead Bentonville (1-0), which returns to action at 1:30 p.m. today against White Hall in Benton.

Springdale High 16, Clarksville 8

Kelcee Thompson hit two home runs and Springdale High jumped out to a 6-0 lead en route to a 16-8 win over host Clarksville in first-day action at the Clarksville Tournament.

Thompson had five RBIs, including a grand-slam homer, while Maegan Kelly went 4-for-5 with a double and a three-run home run for the Lady Bulldogs, which scored three runs in the first and third innings. Chelsea Baldwin struck out seven while walking six and allowing six hits in the win.

West Fork 4, Berryville 0

Kaden Selph cranked a 2-run home run, and Tiffany Cartwright dominated in the circle as West Fork blanked Berryville in nonconference action.

Jessical Reed collected three hits for West Fork and Brooke Lowery had two RBIs for the Lady Tigers. Cartwright allowed just four hits and struck out three to earn the victory.

Thursday

Harrison 9, Springdale High 2

Breanna Donaldson and Caitlynn Bradley each had RBIs, but Springdale High lost 9-2 to Harrison on Thursday.

Kelcee Thompson and Maegan Kelley each went 2-for-4 at the plate, combining for half of the Lady Bulldogs' eight hits. Chelsea Baldwin allowed three earned runs and took the loss, giving up five hits and four walks with three strikeouts.

Springdale Splits Games

Springdale High (2-2) split a pair of games in opening-day action at the Dover Tournament on Thursday, losing 19-5 to Dover in its first game before bouncing back with a 12-4 win over Lavaca in the second game.

Carson Johnson went 3-for-4, Payton Perry was 3-for-4 with a double and Brandon Castanon had two hits and 4 RBIs, as Eric Brumfield earned the win by striking out seven in five innings. Fuller Chandler took the loss against Dover.

Ozark/NWA Classic

Huntsville 6, Cedarville 0
