Juveniles Arrested After Rogers Dart Attack

ROGERS -- Two boys were arrested Friday in connection with an incident in which a woman was hit in the abdomen with a blow dart, police said in a news release.

The two boys, who are 16 and 17, were arrested in connection with third-degree battery charges and released on juvenile citation to the custody of their parents, according to the news release. Third-degree battery is a Class A misdemeanor.

Dalia Gallegos, 21, of Rogers, reported Wednesday she was walking with a friend in the area of 28th Street and Bellview Road. As a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup passed, she was hit in the abdomen with a dart, according to the news release. The dart was described as about 3 inches long, and looked like a blow dart.

Gallegos suffered minor injuries, according to the news release.

The pair said they were shooting darts out the window and unintentionally hit Gallegos, said Keith Foster, Rogers police spokesman.
