Fire Causes Smoke Damage in Fayetteville Duplex

FAYETTEVILLE -- No injuries were reported after a living room fire started in a duplex Friday morning.

Fayetteville and Farmington fire trucks went to 574 S. Sang Ave. after heavy smoke was reported about 10:45 a.m. The street is less than a half-mile west of the University of Arkansas.

Mauro Campos, Fayetteville battalion chief, said the fire caused heavy smoke damage and minor fire damage before being extinguished. No one was home at the time, he said.

The cause of the fire was being investigated Friday afternoon.
