Missouri man arrested in connection with rape

A Granby, Mo. man is being held Friday on $50,000 bond in the Benton County Jail in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl.

Lloyd Davies, 35, was booked at 6:05 p.m. Monday into the Benton County Jail.

He was arrested in connection with rape, a Class Y felony, which is punishable with a prison sentence ranging from 10 to 40 years or life imprisonment.

Davies’ arrest stems from a rape complaint that Bentonville police received in November 2012.

A teenage girl reported that she worked at a restaurant with Davies and that he had helped train her at work, according to court documents.

According to court documents, the girl reported that while at work with Davies at the back of the restaurant that Davies began touching her and she walked away. The teen reported that Davies later grabbed her while she was in the kitchen and she attempted to squirm away, the affidavit reports.

According to the affidavit, the girl sent the following texts to her therapist. “My coworker just raped me and I think he’s trying to again. I need an excuse to get out of work help me. He did it again help me I’m scared.”

Prosecutors have not filed formal charges against Davies.

Davies’ arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 21 in Circuit Judge Robin Green’s court.
