Professor To Speak At Bentonville Community College

— Mounir Farah from the University of Arkansas will lecture on "The Hidden Factors in the Syrian Upheaval" today in Room 108 of the Becky Paneitz Student Center at NorthWest Arkansas Community College.

The presentation will be from noon to 1 p.m., and all are welcome to attend. The event is part of the college's themed semester focus on Syria, according to a news release.

Farah is a professor of curriculum and instruction and Middle East studies. He served as director of Middle East outreach and associate director of Middle East studies at the university. In 1993-95, Farah was a consultant to the Ministry of Education in Jordan and to the World Bank project for educational reform and development in Jordan.

Farah holds a doctorate in modern Middle Eastern and European history from New York University.
