HOT SPOTS

LAKE CONWAY The water is at normal spring levels. Bream are biting well on worms and crickets next to the shoreline. Crappie fishing is excellent using minnows and jigs fished around Gold Creek, Adams Lake and Greens Lake. Bass are biting well on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and soft-plastic worms. Catfishing is good using yo-yos and trotlines baited with large minnows or goldfish.

LAKE DARDANELLE Crappie have been biting well in creeks and bays with some even being caught in the river. The depths of the fish have been changing daily but many have been caught around 10 feet deep on minnows and jigs. Striper fishing has been excellent with many limits caught each day. White crankbaits, Alabama rigs, stick baits and buckhair jigs with grubs are working well. Bream also have been picking up daily in the creeks using crickets and worms. Bass fishing has

been excellent. Alabama rigs, crankbaits and jigs worked along rocks are catching the deeper fish. In the upper river, try jerkbaits, Rat-L-Traps and jigs. Catfish are being caught on large shad and cut perch in the river.

LITTLE MAUMELLE RIVER Bream are biting fairly well on worms and crickets. Crappie are biting well early and late in the day on minnows and jigs. Bass are feeding on shad in the creek, and many are being caught on Rat-L-Traps, top-water lures and black/red flake Texas rigged tubes. The bass also are biting live minnows. Catfish are biting well at night on trotlines and jugs baited with cut bait and livers. White bass are moving into the creek and can be caught on shad-imitating lures.

SALINE RIVER ACCESS (BENTON) Smallmouth and spotted bass fishing have been great with big brood minnows and No. 12 bass minnows. A four or five-inch Texas-rigged lizard works well, too. Crappie fishing has been good with No. 6 crappie minnows. The last hour of daylight has been the best time to crappie fish. Catfish are being caught on trotlines baited with minnows and black salties. Bream can be caught on crickets or redworms around almost any underwater cover.
