Junior High Track

Central Teams Place Second

The Springdale Central eighth grade boys and girls track teams finished second in the Springdale eighth grade track meet.

Olivia stumbaugh was the girls high-point scorer.

The Central ninth grade girls claimed first place as eighth-grader Reaghan Smithpeters was girls high-point scorer with 60 points. The Central ninth grade boys placed second in the team standings, led by Zac McWhorter who broke the school record in the pole vault with a 14-feet, 4-inch vault.

College Baseball

Hendrix College 7, Ecclesia College 2

Hendrix Colege used a four-run second inning to knock off Ecclesia College on Tuesday.

Osvaldo Rosas had two hits for the Royals and drove in one run. Gerry Sifuentes also had an RBI double in the first inning, scoring Shane Pepper who singled.

The Royals (7-10) allowed 11 hits and committed four errors in the loss. Guy Halbert took the loss for the Royals, going 3.1 innings and allowing six runs and striking out three.
