PINE BLUFF 65, MOUNTAIN HOME 48

JONESBORO - Marcus Thomas scored 28 points, including 18 in the second half, as Pine Bluff (16-8) rallied to down Mountain Home (8-18).

Roosevelt Murray scored 15 points and Will Gragg added nine for the Zebras, who trailed throughout the first half and by seven points in the third quarter.

Skylar Culver led Mountain Home with 15 points. Collin Oxford added 11, while Preston Groesbeck and Blake McKee each scored nine.

RUSSELLVILLE 58, LAKE HAMILTON 28

Russellville held Lake Hamilton to four first-quarter points as the Cyclones built a 21-4 lead on their way to the victory.

Cody Underhill led Russellville with a game-high 18 points followed by Marquis Rhode’s 14 and Tony Jones’ 13. Andy Campbell added 10 for Russellville.

Jason Burks led Lake Hamilton with 10 points.

LITTLE ROCK FAIR 59, SEARCY 44

Jerrick Cole scored 20 points to lead Little Rock Fair past Searcy.

Antonio Pointer added 14 points for Fair and Nick Jones had 11.

Emaje Young scored 22 to lead Searcy. James Wade had 13.

  • Austin Emerson CLASS 3A CHARLESTON 64, VALLEY SPRINGS 57

CHARLESTON - Matthew Ward scored 22 points as Charleston (29-5) used a hot start to knock off Valley Springs (25-10).

Charleston withstood a 42-point scoring barrage from Valley Springs’ Keeton Tennison. Tennison scored 19 points in the fourth quarter.

Ty Storey added 16 points for Charleston.

RIVERCREST 73, WEST FORK 66

Khalil Williams scored 17 points and Marquez Chew added 14 as Rivercrest(21-7) fought off West Fork (17-9) to advance to the second round.

Ethan Kirk added 10 points for Rivercrest.

Josh Bailey led West Fork with 17 points, which included hitting three consecutive three-pointers in the fourth quarter to keep the Tigers in the game. Dylan Clayton added 16 points and sophomore William Roebke scored 13. CEDARVILLE 46, MELBOURNE 44

Abraham Hernandez’s layup attempt bounced around the rim several times before falling through the net at the buzzer as Cedarville (22-9) defeated Melbourne (16-11).

With the score tied 44-44, the Pirates drove the length of the court in 6 seconds before finding Hernandez underneath for the game-winner.

Garrett Parson led Cedarville with 19 points, while teammate Alex Cantrell added 16.

Melbourne’s Kyler McLaughlin led all scorers with 23 points. Cody Goodman had 11 for the Bearkatz.

CLASS 2A

BLEVINS 59, AUGUSTA 42

HAMPTON - Blevins (40-1) shook off a slow start behind Montae Gentry and River Kirkham to build a 19-point lead as it eliminated Augusta (17-13).

Gentry made 3 three-pointers and Kirkham added seven of his game-high 21 points in the second quarter as the Hornets fought back from a 13-5 deficit to take a 31-23 lead going into halftime. That advantage grew to 19 late in the fourth quarter.

Quincy Brashears added 12 points for Blevins. Darius Warren had 14 points and Otis Poindexter 12 for Augusta.

BRINKLEY 61, HECTOR 46

Tyler Armstrong had 21 points and four key assists in the final two quarters to help Brinkley (21-9) defeat Hector (23-6).

Armstrong had three assists on three consecutive trips and hit a layup as the Tigers built a 41-32 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Hector’s Chandler Stanek made four threes to open the fourth quarter and tie it 44-44, but DeQuan Green had athree-point play and Armstrong converted a steal into a layup and passed to DeAngelo Frost for another score as the Tigers pulled away with a 12-0 run.

ENGLAND 47, BIGELOW 30

B.J. Thompson scored 12 points and Devonta Patterson added 10 as England (27-3) opened up a 20-point lead and cruised into the next round.

CLASS 1A

CONCORD 38, JASPER 26

HARRISON - Concord, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A all season, got a scare in its first-round game Friday afternoon but held off a feisty Jasper team to advance.

Jasper used its height advantage to control the paint and slowed the tempo as it stayed close to Concord early in the game. The teams were tied at 10-10 before Concord scored the final five points of the first quarter, and it pretty much maintained that lead the rest of the way.

Jacob Roark scored 25 points to lead Concord, with 10 coming in the first quarter.

Trevor Jeanes and Justin House led Jasper with five points each.

STEPHENS 63, CALICO ROCK 52

Stephens trailed for most of the first three quarters before outscoring Calico Rock 23-11 in the final quarter to advance.

Stephens took its first lead in the third quarter but trailed 41-40 going into the final quarter. It scored the first eight points of the final quarter to take control.

Cedric Cooper came off the bench to score 26 points for Stephens, and Quintarius Norwood added 11.

Brett James led Calico Rock with 18 points.

EMERSON 70, IZARD COUNTY 51

Jaleen Jackson scored 26 points and Tavion Revels had 23 as Emerson defeated Izard County.

Andrew Walker led Izard County with 13 points, and Clay Mosley added 11.
