Bella Vista Planning Commission To Meet Monday

Saturday, March 8, 2014

BELLA VISTA -- A public hearing about stormwater drainage and management regulations will be held by the Planning Commission at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in the Fire Department training room at Town Center.

Chris Suneson, planning director, said he hopes to adopt a drainage criteria manual outlining regulations when issuing Small Municipal Storm Sewer Systems permits. That can only be done through amendments to the subdivision code that must be adopted by the City Council as an ordinance.

New regulations likely will increase the cost of development in the area, Suneson said. The regulations also will apply to the city's designated planning area.

The group will then vote on a recommendation to send to the City Council. This year's officers also will be elected Monday night.
