History Day Planned At Bentonville College

BENTONVILLE -- NorthWest Arkansas Community College will host 350 fourth- through 12th-graders from 17 area schools in the History Day District 10 competition March 15.

Students will compete in categories such as research paper, exhibit, performance, website and documentary, according to a news release.

The public is invited to tour exhibits and displays of student work between 2:30 and 4 p.m. in Room 108 of the Becky Paneitz Student Center and Room 1116 of Burns Hall.

An awards ceremony will be held in White Auditorium of Burns Hall at 4:30 p.m. More than $15,000 in scholarships, cash and prizes will be awarded.

Winning entries will advance to state competition April 19 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

The college first hosted the History Day competition in 2012.
