Fort Smith crash kills Oklahoman

FORT SMITH - A Pocola, Okla., woman died early Thursday from injuries she suffered when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle in south Fort Smith, according to Fort Smith police.

Sandra Pulse, 64, died at a hospital after the accident that occurred about 7:30 a.m. at Fianna Way and Arkansas 253, police spokesman Sgt. Daniel Grubbs said in a news release.

According to the release, Pulse was driving a Nissan Altima south on Arkansas 253 and veered into oncoming traffic where she collided with a Silverado driven by John Dobbs, 67, of Hackett. The release said Dobbs suffered minor scratches.

Pulse was treated at the scene and then transported to a hospital where she died shortly after arrival, the release said.

Her body has been sent to the state Crime Laboratory to determine whether a medical problem could have contributed to the accident, the release said.
