State basketball playoffs begin Thursday

— Playoff games for Arkansas high school basketball teams will begin Thursday.

Winter weather across the state caused the Arkansas Activities Association to reschedule some games two days later than originally planned.

Class 7A and 4A will play games Thursday, Friday, Saturday of this week and next Monday. Classes 6A, 5A, 3A, 2A and 1A will play games Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week, and Monday and Tuesday next week.

Host sites for this year's state tournaments are Conway (7A), Jonesboro (6A), Alma (5A), Lonoke (4A), Charleston (3A), Hampton (2A) and Harrison (1A). State championship games will be played later this month in Hot Springs.
