— A Washington, Mo., woman faces felony charges in connection with a one-car crash that left one person dead and another one injured.

Alexandra Adams, 23, was being held Monday in the Benton County Jail with a $25,000 bond. She was arrested in connection with battery in the second degree, a Class B felony; and negligent homicide, a Class D felony. She was arrested on first offense driving while intoxicated, careless driving and driving while license canceled, suspended or revoked -- all misdemeanors.

Adams was traveling south on Interstate 540 at 9:34 p.m. Friday when her vehicle rolled over a concrete retaining wall and into a construction area, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The crash occurred north of Wagon Wheel Road.

A pedestrian, David Moessner, was going to provide help to the people in the rollover vehicle when he was struck by another vehicle. Moessner, 51, died from his injuries a short time later, according to the affidavit.

Adams was sitting in the front passenger seat of an ambulance when Cpl. Jesse Woodham with the Arkansas State Police arrived at the scene, according to the probable cause affidavit. Adams refused medical treatment while Brooke Rosemann, a passenger in the vehicle with her, was being put in the ambulance, according to court documents.

Woodham began to investigate the crash scene when he smelled a strong odor of intoxicants about the vehicle, according to the affidavit. Woodham saw a box of Budweiser bottles in the back of the vehicle. A couple of the bottles were open, the affidavit states.

Woodham went to Mercy Medical Center to talk with Adams, according to the affidavit.

Adams had an injury to her left leg and Woodham could smell intoxicants coming from her, the affidavit states. Woodham also described in the affidavit that Adams' eyes were bloodshot and watery, according to court documents.

Adams admitted to drinking and she provided a blood sample, which has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory, the affidavit states.

Adams agreed to provide a breath test and the result was .24. The legal limit in Arkansas is .08, according to the affidavit.

Adams is on probation in Missouri for a driving while intoxicated offense and three charges of assault vehicular injury that happened on April 21, 2011, according to court documents. Adams' driver's license was revoked because of the Missouri case, according to the affidavit.

Adams' arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 7 in Circuit Judge Robin Green's court.
