Fayetteville Suspends Trash Collection

— Trash and recycling collection was suspended Monday until street conditions improve.

Residents should put bins out on their normal service day, Brian Pugh, waste reduction coordinator, said. Workers will empty the bins as soon as they are able.

City officials noted the weight of trash trucks and the potential for damage on slick roads.

"The safety risk is too great for operations to continue at this time," a news release stated.
