NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Forecasters are warning that significant amounts of freezing rain could accumulate in portions of Arkansas, Missouri and western Tennessee through the afternoon and early evening.

Temperatures at freezing or below were pushing southward into more of Arkansas during Sunday afternoon. As a result, rain occurring in most of central and northern Arkansas will change over to freezing rain the rest of the day.

Freezing rain could fall at a rate of two-tenths to a quarter-inch per hour, for about an hour.

Thunderstorms were occurring in parts of the state, producing bursts of "thundersleet."

Entergy Arkansas said more than 2,000 customers had lost power for a time Sunday, but it wasn't immediately known if all were weather-related.
