BENTONVILLE -- Sheriff Kelley Cradduck filed for a second term in office Friday, as the filing period for Benton County offices continued.
Cradduck said he had many things he still wants to do as sheriff.
"We accomplished a lot, but there's still work to be done," he said. "We're looking at privatizing inmate medical care and looking at some renovations on the jail. We need to look ahead."
Also Friday, Susan Shadlow filed for the District 2 seat on the Quorum Court. The seat will be vacated by Rey Hernandez, who was appointed to serve out the term of Frank Winscott, who moved out of the district after being re-elected in 2012.
Shadlow, who lives in the Horseshoe Bend area east of Rogers, said she became interested in county government while working on County Judge Bob Clinard's first two campaigns.
"I got interested and I just want to be more involved," she said.
Jay Harrison, justice of the peace for District 3, and Joel Jones, justice of the peace for District 7, both filed for re-election Friday.
Tom Leadabrand of Siloam Springs filed for the District 12 seat on the Quorum Court on Friday. That seat is now held by Patrick Carr, who has announced he will not seek re-election.
A race for the District 4 seat on the Quorum Court developed Friday when Clell Alden of Cave Springs filed for that position. Tom Allen, the incumbent, already has filed for re-election.
Filing for the ballot in the May 20 party preferential primaries ends at noon Monday. These candidates have filed for office through Friday:
