Arkansans Across the Minors

News and notes

• Pitcher Barrett Astin (Arkansas Razorbacks/Forrest City) pitched the 7th inning for the West All-Stars in a 7-0 victory over the East All-Stars on Tuesday at the Class A Midwest League All-Star Game in Comstock Park, Mich. Astin needed only six pitches to get through the inning, but did have to deal with a base runner because of a fielding error with one out. Astin induced a double play to the next batter to get out of the inning. Ryne Stanek (Arkansas Razorbacks) was on the East team's pitching staff but did not pitch after starting a game for Bowling Green (A Rays) on June 14.

• Pitcher Mike Bolsinger (Arkansas Razorbacks), who was promoted from Class AAA Reno to the Arizona Diamondbacks earlier this season, spent most of the past six weeks back in Reno. Bolsinger was 3-1 in 7 appearances with the Aces from May 10 to June 11. He was recalled to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday and pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits (including 2 home runs) with 6 strikeouts, in Arizona's 7-5 loss to Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

• Outfielder Delta Cleary Jr. (Jonesboro) was promoted from Class AA Tulsa to Class AAA Colorado Springs by the Colorado Rockies organization on June 14. Sky Sox director of broadcasting Dan Karcher said Cleary was called up because of injuries, but noted Cleary is hitting better in Colorado Springs than he did in Tulsa. Through Friday's game at Tacoma, Cleary is batting .304 with 4 RBI in 6 games for Colorado Springs. He hit .249 with 1 home run and 15 RBI in 55 games this season for the Drillers.

• Second baseman David Harris (Southern Arkansas) was promoted from short-season Class A Vancouver to Class A Lansing by the Toronto Blue Jays organization on Thursday. Lansing radio broadcaster Jesse Goldberg-Strassler said the promotion was earned. "No injury, no spot needing to be filled -- he was ready for the next level up," Goldberg-Strassler said. Harris made his debut with the Lugnuts on Friday, going 1 for 4 with 1 RBI in an 8-3 victory over Bowling Green.

• Jeffrey Enloe (Central Arkansas) was one of three pitchers promoted from short-season Class A Eugene to Class A Fort Wayne by the San Diego Padres organization on Thursday. According to team officials, three other TinCaps pitchers were reassigned within the organization, so Enloe was promoted to fill a vacated roster spot.

• Shortstop Matt Reynolds (Arkansas Razorbacks) was promoted from Class AA Binghamton to Class AAA Las Vegas by the New York Mets organization on Thursday. ...
