Light-hitting Kandilas socks it to Naturals

Tulsa right fielder David Kandilas came into Friday night's game against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals batting .000 (0 for 15).

Kandilas went 3 for 5, finishing a home run short of the cycle to boost his average to .150 as the Drillers downed the Naturals 10-6 in front of an announced crowd of 5,125 at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale.

The loss ended a four-game winning streak for the Naturals who committed four errors and blew a 5-3 lead as the Drillers scored five runs over the fifth through seven innings for their first victory in the second half of the season (1-3).

Kandilas' triple off Matthew Murray (0-3) in the top of the sixth inning gave the Drillers the lead for good at 6-5. Joey Wong's two-out single scored Kandilas for a 7-5 advantage.

Northwest Arkansas' Hunter Dozier scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth to make it 7-6, but Tulsa got the run back in the top of the seventh when Tyler Massey scored on Jayson Langfels' sacrifice fly off Murray.

Tulsa tacked on two in the ninth on Kandilas' two-out double off Cody Fassold.

Every Tulsa batter except leadoff hitter Taylor Featherston had at least one hit and one run scored.

Cheslor Cuthbert led the Northwest Arkansas offense with two hits -- a double and a second inning solo home run off Tulsa starter Jon Gray (7-3). Hunter Dozier, playing in his second game for the Naturals, had two hits, including a double.
