18-year-old Gentry woman killed in wreck

An 18-year-old Gentry woman was killed early Friday morning when she crossed to the wrong side of the road and was head-on by a semi, according to a report from Arkansas State Police.

The woman was identified as Sophia Asenscio-Porter. She apparently fell asleep while driving north on Arkansas 59, according to the news release.

The truck driver, Richard S. Snell, 58, tried to avoid the wreck but was unable to do so, according to the report. He was taken to Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital and was in fair condition, according to the report.
