Spa City snags Air Supply, Thompson Square couple

Air Supply will perform tonight at the Finish Line Theater at Oaklawn in Hot Springs.

Formed in Australia, Air Supply racked up a plethora of hits in the late 1970s and early 1980s: "Lost in Love," "All Out of Love," "Every Woman in the World," "The One That You Love," "Here I Am," "Sweet Dreams," "Even the Nights Are Better," "Young Love," "Two Less Lonely People in the World," "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" and "Just as I Am."

The primary members of Air Supply have always been the English-born singer-songwriter-guitarist Graham Russell and Australian-born lead singer Russell Hitchcock.

Tickets are $40 and $30 for the 7 p.m. show; doors will open at 6.

Also performing in Hot Springs will be Thompson Square, a Nashville, Tenn.-based husband-wife duo, taking the stage Saturday at Magic Springs.

Luke Williams will open the show at 7 p.m.

Consisting of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, the couple signed a label deal in January 2010 and that July, the duo had their first No. 1 hit, "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not." They released their debut self-titled album in February 2011 and a follow-up CD, Just Feels Good, in March 2013. That album contained another No. 1 song, "If I Didn't Have You."

In 2012 and 2013, the Thompsons won Top Vocal Duo of the Year awards from the Academy of Country Music and also were named Vocal Duo of the Year in 2013.

Opening act Williams, a 19-year-old from Beebe, moved with his father to Nashville in 2008 and three years later, he released his debut album, Test of Time. He has opened shows for many of country music's big names, including Brad Paisley, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney and Jamey Johnson.

Admission is $54.99 the day of the concert, $49.99 if bought online; children 3 and younger admitted free and children shorter than 48 inches are admitted for $33.99, as are adults 55 and older. Chris Knight will perform at 9 p.m. today at Juanita's.

Knight, a Kentucky singer-songwriter, has recorded eight albums. The latest, Little Victories, was released in September 2012.

Admission is $25.

Sunday at 8 p.m., the club will host Mickey Avalon, a rapper from Hollywood.

Admission is $15.

Two Cow Garage returns to the White Water Tavern tonight.

The Columbus, Ohio, band debuted in 2002 with Please Turn the Gas Back On, then released other albums with colorful names, including The Wall Against Our Back, Speaking in Cursive, Sweet St. Me and The Death of the Self-Preservation Society.

Admission to the 9:30 p.m. show is $7.

Friday night, the club will host a Summer Soulstice Dance Party, with Baldego and DJ G Force.

Admission to the 9 p.m. show is $5.

John Paul Keith returns for a show at 10 p.m. Saturday.

Keith stays busy with his own recording and performing career and also sings in a duo with Amy LaVere known as Motel Mirrors. He recently played guitar on Arkansan Jim Mize's new self-titled album and on LaVere's new CD, Runaway's Diary.

Keith's latest album, Memphis Circa 3 a.m., released in 2013, was produced by Arkansas native Roland Janes, who was the house guitarist for Sun Records in the 1950s. (Janes died in October soon after the project's completion.)

Bobgoblin will re-emerge for a five-city tour that will bring the band Friday night for a show at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack.

Formed in Dallas by musicians who now live in Little Rock, Detroit and Chicago, the band's Little Rock member is Hop Litzwire, lead singer and keyboardist, who attended Parkview High School and played in Fifth Cliff before attending the University of North Texas at Denton, where he formed Bobgoblin with drummer Rob Avsharian.

The show will open at 9 p.m. with sets by Glittercore and The Talking Liberties.

Admission is $6.

Four on the Floor performs Saturday night. The Little Rock band consists of singer EC Haynes, guitarist Charlie Page, bassist Luther Hamilton and drummer Mike "Daddy-O" Dugan.

The Revolutioners will open the show at 9 p.m.

Admission is $5.

Admission to the 9 p.m. show is $7.

Saturday, Samantha Fish will perform at 8 p.m. Fish, a young blues rocker from Kansas City, Mo., released her second album, Black Wind Howlin', in October on the heels of her debut, Runaway, in 2012. It featured guest spots by singer Paul Thorn and harmonica player Johnny Sansone.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $13 the day of the show.
