One Big Bass

My wife and I were fishing at Swepco Lake near Gentry. I cast out, felt a bite and with one quick jerk I set the hook.

My rod curled under the pressure and pow! The line snapped. I yelled, "Man, that was a big fish!"

Moments later my wife cast in the same exact spot and reeled in a 10-inch bass. She raised that fish up out of the water and there was my hook that had broke off just moments before, right there in the fish's mouth.

She turned to me, glowing with pride and exclaimed, "Boy, that WAS a big fish."
