A high-speed chase that started in Springdale and extended into Benton County ended with an arrest at the Springdale Bowling Alley.

Springdale officers were responding Wednesday morning to 1397 Austin Street for a report of a man in violation of protection order, according to a news release. The man, Jason Komsonekeo, 33, left in a red Ford Focus before officers arrived, the release stated.

Police received a second call at about 12:30 p.m. that Komsonekeo was back on Austin Street. He again left before officers arrived, according to the news release, but an officer spotted him on Sunset Avenue and initiated a traffic stop. Instead of stopping the vehicle got on Interstate 49 heading north, and traveling upwards of 80 miles per hour, according to the news release.

When the vehicle entered a construction zone, the officer stopped pursuit because the danger of continued pursuit outweighed the importance of catching the man, according to the news release.

Arkansas State Police picked up the pursuit later, traveling back through Springdale and down several highways and streets. The man eventually pulled over near Thompson Street and Porter Road and was arrested by state police.

Komsonekeo was arrested in connection with felony fleeing, violation of a protection order and criminal mischief, according to the news release.
