City Gears Up For Centerton Days

CENTERTON -- City officials are gearing up for the annual Centerton Day on June 28.

A 5K run will start at 7 a.m. behind Sonic Drive In. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 the day of.

Coffee with the Mayor will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Centerton City Hall. Residents can meet with elected officials and discuss what’s happening in the community.

A pancake breakfast will be from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Centerton Fire Department, 755 W. Centerton Blvd., according to a news release. The all-you-can eat meal costs $5. Proceeds will go to the Fire Department.

A Kids' Fishing Derby at Centerton Lake will be from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. This free event is for children 15 and younger. Participants need to bring their own fishing poles and bait. There will be tagged fish for prizes.

A Car and Bike Show at Beckendale Plaza in the 400 block of West Centerton Boulevard will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entry fee is $25 per car. For more information, call 479-426-4545

There is also a Centennial Tiny Tot Pageant at 9 a.m. Entry forms are on the city's Facebook and website, www.centertonar.us.

A parade will begin at 11 a.m. Those wanting to be in it should meet on Commercial Street beside Harps at 10:30 a.m. to line up. Third District Rep. Steve Womack, R-Rogers, will be the guest speaker, and Rep. Dan Douglas, R-Bentonville, will present a proclamation for the city's centennial year.

Local bands Gabe Wood, Life Point Worship and Breaking Silence will perform in the park all morning.

There also will be an auction at noon to benefit the Fire Department, Shop with a Cop and Centerton Animal Control. Items to auction are still needed.
