Personal Space

Andrea Angel

Where I live: I live in the Emerald Mountain neighborhood in Alexander with my husband, David, daughter Annabel and our Weimaraner named Winston.

Occupation: I am the director of development for the College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

My favorite space is: My dining table.

Why? Like many couples, my husband and I both work, but we make it a point to sit down to dinner as a family each night that we are home. In the mornings, we rush around getting ready, and after work we rush around running errands eager to get home. At the end of the day, it's nice to all sit down at the dining table and enjoy a meal and quiet time together. Annabel hears about what Mom and Dad did at work that day, and we hear what happened at her school. On Sundays, she and I sit at the table, and I read the comics to her. I enjoy going through the paper section by section each morning with my coffee. From my chair, I can see Winston running in the backyard. The table also serves as my home office on some days.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Purchase a seat for Annabel that's in between a high chair and regular chair. She has outgrown her high chair, but still strains to sit properly in the chairs at the table.
