Brad Pitt joined Angelina Jolie at a London conference on sexual violence Thursday, lending the couple's star power to the campaign to end rape in war zones. The four-day London conference is organized by British Foreign Secretary William Hague and Jolie, a United Nations special envoy. They hope representatives of the more than 100 countries present will back a new protocol laying out how sexual violence in conflict zones should be investigated and prosecuted. Pitt watched from the audience as Jolie and Hague spoke to delegates at the east London conference venue. Billed as the biggest-ever conference on the subject, the gathering has drawn diplomats, officials, charity representatives and survivors of wartime rape. Jolie said the meeting, which ends today, was being held "for all the forgotten, hidden survivors who have been made to feel ashamed or been abandoned."

Casey Kasem's daughter has the authority to withhold food and fluids from her ailing father, a judge ruled Wednesday. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel Murphy reversed a ruling from Monday that stated that Kasem should receive food, fluids and certain medications until after a court-appointed attorney met with the former radio host and his doctors. Murphy reviewed additional medical records Wednesday and concluded that Kasem would endure more pain if he was given food or fluids, attorney Troy Martin said. Martin, who represents Kasem's daughter, Kerri, presented the updated information to Murphy during an emergency hearing. He also presented the judge with documents in which Kasem stated he did not want his life prolonged by food or fluids if he was mentally incapacitated. Kasem's wife of 34 years, Jean, pleaded with the judge to restore food and fluids to her husband, who has a form of dementia. Jean Kasem stormed out of the courtroom after Murphy issued his ruling, according to the New York Daily News, which first reported the decision.
