Ukraine rejects offer by Putin on gas price, demands better deal

Ukraine Energy Minister Yuri Prodan leaves the European Commission headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday. Ukraine said it wanted a better deal after Russia’s offer to restore a natural-gas price discount.

Russia on Wednesday offered to restore the discounted natural-gas price it granted Ukraine under the ousted pro-Russia president, but Ukraine demanded an even better deal and called for arbitration to settle the dispute.
