The U.S. News and World Report has ranked Arkansas Children’s Hospital among the Best Children’s Hospitals on its 2014-2015 list for cardiology and heart surgery, the hospital announced Thursday.

The annual list ranked the hospital’s heart transplant program as superior and gave high marks to its nurse-to-patient ratio and pressure-ulcer prevention strategies.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital ranked No. 35 on a list of 50 hospitals nationwide for the best cardiology and heart surgery services for children.

A news release from the hospital states that Arkansas Children’s Hospital offers the only pediatric heart transplant program in the state and treats patients from throughout the region for complex conditions that cannot be addressed elsewhere.

In 2011, the hospital set a national record for pediatric heart transplants, which saved the lives of 31 children through the gift of donor organs, according to the release.
