The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department will hold a public meeting in Beebe on Thursday to present and discuss plans to widen U.S. 64.
The work will extend from Turner Road to White County Road 5, between Vilonia and Beebe. The project is part of the department's $1.8 billion highway construction program that is financed by a 0.5 percent sales tax for 10 years. Voters approved the tax in November 2012.
The meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Union Valley Baptist Church at 932 U.S. 64 West in Beebe.
