Man Injured In Rogers Shooting

ROGERS -- One man was injured Monday night in a shooting incident at the Guest Inn, Rogers police said in a news release.

The victim was identified on the Rogers Police Department's Facebook page as Shawn Sims-Navarre, 40. He was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg, according to the release.

Police were dispatched at 6:33 p.m. to a call of a man with a gun at the motel, 1601 S. Eighth St., according to the release. There they found the victim and called for an ambulance.

The suspect, who was not identified, was last seen heading west on foot, according to the news release. However, the statement later posted on the department's Facebook page said the man left in a new grey Chevy Sonic sedan, possibly with tinted window. No description of the shooter was provided.

Detectives are investigating.
