Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges

A Farmington man was arrested Sunday in connection with five felonies, according to a preliminary police report.

Cory Ryan, 24, of 184 Louise St., was arrested in connection with aggravated residential burglary, residential burglary, kidnapping, terroristic threatening and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Washington County Detention Center.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a disturbance call at 22541 War Eagle Road in Springdale. According to the report, Chris Evans told deputies Ryan forced him to carry a television to a residence at 22652 War Eagle Road. Deputies went there and found Ryan sitting on a couch in the garage.

Next to him was a duffel bag and a bag filled with female clothing, and behind the couch was a white purse, according to the report. Also found was a kitchen knife, a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, two plastic bags with the same residue, a silver spoon and miscellaneous items that belonged to the caretaker of the residence where Ryan was found.

Evans told deputies Ryan told him to carry the TV and threatened him with a large kitchen knife, according to the report. Evans told authorities when he told Ryan he wouldn't help, Ryan took the knife, waved it in circles and walked toward him. Evans did as he was told, as Ryan walked with him.

Once Ryan went into the residence, Evans went to the home where the television was taken, and informed the resident of the incident.

Ryan was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
