Rogers Aldermen To Vote On Emergency Road Repair

ROGERS -- Pleasant Ridge Road, in the southeast section of the city, is in need of emergency repair because water has created a hole under the roadway, city officials said.

"There have been drainage issues in that area in the past," said Lance Jobe, city engineer. "We've done some work to correct the problem. This time we need to mount a major project to fix not only the hole underneath the road, but some other drainage issues as well."

Aldermen will review Tuesday a $397,630 contract with Johnson Construction to make the necessary repairs to Pleasant Ridge Road. If approved, money for the repairs will come from 2011 bonds.

The City Council is to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers at City Hall, 301 W. Chestnut St. The entrance is on the northeast side of the building.

Agenda items include:

• A request to appropriate $3,918 for renewal of the CritiCall multi-user new hire testing software.

• A request to appropriate $9,975 for an automated online benefits enrollment and administration system.

• A $7,500 contract with Hight-Jackson Associates for design services for roof work the Rogers Activity Center and a $113,792 contract with Franklin & Son for roof work at the center.
