17 students at UA given scholarships

Seventeen students attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville have been awarded scholarships by the Sigma Chi House Corp. Scholarship Committee for the 2014-15 academic year.

The scholarships, which total $32,000, are awarded annually to active members of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at UA.

Recipients are:

Dillon Cox of Pocahontas, $2,000, Jack F. See Jr. Scholarship. Travis Short of Richardson, Texas, $2,000, William I. Rainwater Scholarship. Patrick Erstine of Germantown, Tenn., $1,000, Harold E. Meeks Scholarship. Jaymin Patel of El Dorado, $2,000, Gus Blass II Scholarship. Martin Murad of Lucas, Texas, $2,000, B. Alan Sugg Scholarship. Dylan Cruz of Lexa, $1,000, E. Ray Kemp Scholarship.

UA endowed scholarships

Lucas Fair of Heber Springs, $2,500, Rainwater Endowed Scholarship. Barrett Appleton of Fayetteville, $2,500, Rainwater Endowed Scholarship.
