Rogers bus driver arrested in connection with sexual assault

A bus driver and transportation clerk for the Rogers School District was arrested Friday in connection with sexual assault, according to police and school officials.

According to a news release, Stephen Betts, 51, was investigated by police after allegations that he had sexual contact with a girl beginning 13 years ago when she was 9 years old and continuing until she was 13, according to the news release.

Ashley Siwiec, spokeswoman for the district, confirmed that Betts was a bus driver and transportation clerk and has resigned.

Keith Foster, police spokesman, said the assault did not involve a student.
