Deputies found Willis Terry, 52, dead when they arrived at the home about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in response to a 911 call.

Based upon witness information, detectives determined that Terry was shot during an assault on his estranged wife, Robin Terry, 40, also of Judsonia.

The sheriff's office said Robin Terry had an order of protection from her husband.

No one has been arrested.

After police complete their investigation, the prosecuting attorney's office will review the case and decide whether to charge anyone, a news release from the sheriff's office said.

Chief Deputy Phillip E. Miller said Thursday that the shooting took place at a home the couple had shared in the past. The home now is listed as Robin Terry's address, Miller said.

Robin Terry's son, Hunter Leonard, 18, of Judsonia also was present during the altercation, Miller said.

Asked whether authorities know who fired the shot, Miller said, "We're still investigating that."

Authorities have sent the body to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
